Based on previous reports, the 24-year old singer has had discussions with YUEHUA Entertainment. However, he was eventually turned down by said agency.
News surfaced once more that Kris will be signing with Hwai Brothers, another bog entertainment company in China, but reports say that this is not the case either. According to media reports, the former idol had a meeting with a representative from Hwai Brothers, but up until now, the company has not made any official announcements regarding a contract they've made with Kris.
Now, it is being reported that Kris is having a difficult situation as he couldn't find an entertainment agency to sign a contract with. Based on insider reports, companies are unwilling to issue a contract with Kris is due the fact that he came from the Korean entertainment industry.
Due to the impact of Korean entertainment or Hallyu wave in the market as of the moment, China entertainment companies are worried about losing investments and partnerships that they have already established with Korean companies.
Furthermore, YUEHUA Entertainment has already implied in the past that it is not willing to absorb Kris as it is already allies with Pledis Entertainment, one of the companies competing with SM Entertainment in the Korean market.
Said company has also expressed the same case with Lu Han, saying, "SM Entertainment is a model from which we must learn. We will likewise raise and create excellent celebrities with diligence."
Hwai Brothers, on the other hand, has also arranged connections with Starhaus Entertainment, the same company where Lee Min Ho came from.South Korea band EXO's former Chinese member Wu Yi Fan, otherwise known as Kris Wu, is said to be having a hard time getting signed up with an entertainment agency in China as opposed to the news that he has already signed up with Hwai Brothers.
