Rumor has it that daytime talk show host Ellen Degeneres and his wife Portia De Rossi are heading for divorce after reports that the couple had a huge fight last Sunday, October 26, surfaced, but both have denied the rumors, saying that they are happily married.

According to a media outlet, the reports came from an incident wherein Degeneres and De Rossi were seen having quite a big fight in the car on their way to a fund-raising event for rescued animals. Their fight is said to have prevented them from attending the event.

The couple is said to have been invited to host an event held by Saving SPOT!, an organization that works to rescue stray dogs. The organization is said to have turned to the power couple for support.

Both Degeneres and De Rossi were said to have been enthusiastic about the attending the event and being listed as the hosts, but a media outlet later revealed that the couple was not able to attend the event.

The couple has then released a joint statement, saying that they were glad about being named as the hosts for the event, but they also stated that the honorary guests for said event have always known that they will not be able to attend the event.

According to the statement that De Rossi and Degeneres issued, it was the first time that they would be seeing their images on the invites, adding, "It was not approved and it is misleading."

Saving SPOT! has not released a statement regarding the couple's comments about the event.

Furthermore, Degeneres refuted the rumors that she and De Rossi will be filing for divorce, also denying the fight that allegedly happened between them. De Rossi's lawyer, Marty Singer, also helped deny the rumors.

According to singer, the story about Degeneres and De Rossi's fight was a big lie. Singer has also stated that their expected attendance at the fund-raising event was also fabricated.

"There was no fight that caused them not to attend," says Degeneres' lawyer as well.

Furthermore, with regard to the divorce rumors, Degeneres has expressed that she finds it ridiculous. She stated that she is happily married and that there isn't truth in the claims being made against them.
