Jennifer Lopez has revealed a surprising fact about her life in her upcoming memoir, "True Love." The singer and actress admitted that she has felt abused in some relationships she has been in in the past.
"I've never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I've felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally," the actress wrote in her memoir.

Though she did not specify who abused her before, the talented Latina did narrate the ups and downs of her romantic life. She also revealed why she and ex-husband Marc Anthony broke up in 2011.
However, "True Love" was not the book she intended to write.
"It started out as a fan book, a diary of the years I went on tour. But it turned into something else," Lopez confessed.
"As I started looking at things, it helped me face a lot. I would never go into specifics about my relationships, and I don't. But the idea was that I learned something," she said.
"Jenny From the Block" also said that she has learned a ton about love. The A-list celebrity, who has been married thrice, said that she found out that it is important to stand up for oneself when it comes to love.
"Everyday that you don't walk out that door, every day you accept things in your partner and in yourself, is a day you're saying it's okay," she said in her memoir.
Lopez also made mention of some tips we should all keep in mind as well.
"I had to learn to take care of myself and know my worth. When things are not working out and you're not being treated in a way that you want to be treated, you have to look at that because it's nobody's fault but yours. You have to take control and you have to set up your own boundaries. You have the power to change it," she wrote.
She also mentioned that Marc Anthony, with whom she had twins Max and Emme, 6, was very supportive of her new endeavor. "He read it and said, ‘Wow, I didn't realize you were going through this whole journey," said the star.
"We try to be supportive of each other. We feel that's the best thing for our kids," she added.
The "American Idol" judge said that she was trying to live out what she makes mention in the book. "I'm learning to set up boundaries, you know what I'm saying?," she said.
"I call myself a W.I.P. - a work in progress. I'm still learning and growing every single day."
