Jake Gyllenhaal stars in a new movie called "Nightcrawler" to be released on October 31, 2014. It made its debut last September 5, during the Toronto International Film Festival. Critics have given this movie some mixed reviews.
In the movie, Gyllenhaal plays a young man named Louis Bloom who would practically do anything to get by. Then one day he found himself doing some freelance work in the subject of crime photography in downtown Los Angeles.

He learned how to hustle his way through this job, especially on how to turn his crime shots to real money, and that is why he was dubbed as the "Nightcrawler.''
Gyllenhaal was reported to have really worked hard to achieve the look in this role where audience would notice how he lost a lot of weight. But it is all for the movie so he would look like someone who would invade other people's personal lives with his eyes looking all popped out from his almost bony face. Film experts even described his character as creepy and he totally pulled off internalizing his role.
Other stars in the cast include Rene Russo, Bill Paxton and Riz Ahmed.
This is the first film that Dan Gilroy is directing, which makes it even more interesting because it is not too often that a big studio would allow first timers to handle such a major project. As for the directing and the cinematography, critics have not mentioned any negative feedback regarding that.
Watch Jake Gyllenhaal become the "Nightcrawler" on October 31, 2014.
