Two men were shot in Guangzhou, Guangdong province Tuesday afternoon when a fight broke out in the heavily-populated Beijing Road shopping area.
According to reports, the brawl started when two parties began to argue over a shop's decorations. The fight further escalated and became life-threatening when the two groups drew knives.

Police soon intervened and paramilitaries dressed in green uniforms arrived on the scene to help the officers restore order.
According to eyewitnesses, police fired shots while the seven army members beat dissenters with iron pipes.
The police fired four shots but it is believed that the intention was simply to control the scuffle and not to cause any casualties.
There are no specifics regarding how the two men were shot or if they were even involved in the fight or simply innocent bystanders.
Eventually, police and army members were able to gain control of the crowd and arrested six people.
No deaths were reported and no statement has been issued regarding the extent of the injuries sustained by the two civilians.
There have been rising concerns over escalating violence in China since the March 1st "terrorist" attack at Kunming railway station in which a group of knife-wielding assailants left 29 people dead and hundred of others wounded.
Although the motives driving each of the two incidents are said to be different, China's leaders still feel concerned that violent acts such as these are becoming more and more commonplace throughout the country.
