The series' principle performers, whose contracts only extended through the six seasons, managed to get renegotiations which gave them the option for another season.
HBC gave these actors the good reason to say yes because the studio has agreed to give them a pay raise for seasons five, six and the potential season seven.
The increase would propel them among the highest-paid actors on cable TV.
HBO, however, did not made any comment.
Game of Thrones is the TV adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same title by George R.R. Martin. HBO agreed to renew the show for two additional seasons last April. While the seventh season is not yet in the plans, thanks to the series' high ratings, HBO might agree to extend the show.
Game of Thrones is considered as one of the TV series with the extensive casts. The show adheres to a tiered system as a standard in determining the star's fee. Tier "A" celebrities include actors Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister). These stars are believed to get handsome payouts and are those who managed to renegotiate their deals.
Tier "B" stars include Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and others also managed to grab pay raises in exchange for signing season seven options.
Thrones is currently the biggest and most popular among HBO's shows. Its fourth-season finale drew an estimated 7.1 million total viewers, topping The Sopranos as the most watched series in the history of HBO. The series enjoys around 18.6 million viewers through different platforms and views and it also has a strong following among overseas audience.
The series has recently snagged the most number of Emmy nominations with 19 total mentions.
