1989 is projected to surpass the one million sales market and prospects are even high that it could sell as much as 1.30 million copies, surpassing the feat of Swift's previous album, Red (2012).

Billboard's Artist 100 list offers the first weekly ranking to evaluate singers' activities through Billboard's top charts, such as the Billboard Hot 100 songs, Billboard 200 albums and the Social 50.

The Artist 100 compiles data taken from album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media following.

Swift last topped the charts on Sept. 6, when her single "Shake It Off" reached No. 1 on the Hot 100. Swift now reclaims the top spot after earning 26 percent total gains, thanks to a surge in her album sales by 88 percent due in part to her previous album, Red's, re-entrance to the Billboard 200 which reached the No. 79 spot.

Then, there's also Swift's social profile, where she is well-entrenched which rose to 32 percent, thanks to her relentless efforts to promote her new album. W

1989 is expected to top next week's Billboard 200, which could extend Swift's stint at the Artist 100.

Rounding up the Artist 100's top five stop, are hard rock band Slipknot which lands at No. 2, owing to the group's debut at the Billboard 200 with 5: The Gray Chapter. The album has 131,000 copies so far. On the third through the fifth spot are Meghan Trainor, Maroon 5, and Sam Smith.
