Activision chief executive Eric Hirshberg said they used a different approach for this game.
"We're shaking up the formula in several ways," he added.
American video game developer Sledgehammer Games changed the mechanics of the game and added the "an iconic new character" played by the Seven lead actor Spacey.
They made special gear to capture Spacey's movements and expressions to create a more realistic virtual version of him playing Jonathan Irons, a private military contractor that wants to rule the world.
Spacey released a statement saying he had a lot of fun working with the Call of Duty team in bringing Jonathan Irons to life. He praised the technology integrated into the game and is excited to see the result.
The game is set in the year 2054. Gamers will take the roles of soldiers with enhanced combat abilities because of their exoskeleton suits.
"From the endless research and thousands of production designs, to our incredible focus on the narrative and amazing attention to detail - we're taking nothing for granted," said Glen Schofield, Sledgehammer co-founder and game director.
The publisher and developer of the multibillion-dollar first-person shooter series made sure to customize game copies for PS4 and Xbox One consoles, and for personal computers, as well.
Players that pre-ordered the "Day Zero" editions can start playing the game ahead of the release, and they'll receive some digital perks.
The physical copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will go on sale for US$60. Players can get it from Best Buy and GameStop stores.
