Following the news that Hong Kong actor Lawrence Ng and his wife, Mainland Chinese actress Shi Yang Zi, are getting a divorce, new that they will be fighting for the custody of their child, Xi Er, has surfaced recently.
Chinese media outlets have reported that Ng and Shi will be battling out who gets the custody of their 6-year old daughter, Xi Er, who is currently residing with Shi's mother in Changchun, China.

According to media reports, the couple had much dispute about how they should raise Xi Er. While Ng wanted to raise their daughter in Hong Kong, a place which he thinks is better than China, Shi doesn't want to change their daughter's living environment, allegedly claiming that Xi Er has grown up in China.
Ng also cited that he dislikes living in China and would like his daughter to, more or less, make her own opinions about where she wants to stay in the future. On the other hand, Shi appears to have every intention of living in China as she reportedly wanted to pursue her acting career.
The 50-year old actor also stated in the past that he would like his daughter to enroll in an international school in Hong Kong, adding that his decision about the matter remains firm.
"I hope my daughter can enroll in primary school in Hong Kong latest by next September," said Ng. "She will not be lonely if she stays in my younger brother's place as he has a daughter too and they can take care of each other."
This matter is another thing that Shi allegedly disapproves of. However, since they have very different views about where Xi Er should live, Ng stated that he will find the time to talk to Shi in order for them to find a consensus.
Still, the couple has not decided where Xi Er would be staying and Ng claims that further discussions will be done regarding the matter.
