Forbes has announced the top earning women in music of 2014. Last years top earning woman was Madonna, but unfortunately for the material girl, she is not part of the list of this year's top earning women in music.
Topping the list is "Single Ladies" singer Beyonce, who pulled in US$53 million in 2013. She has now more than doubled that amount seeing as she earned a whooping US$115 million. In an interview with Forbes five years ago the singer said "Like everyone else, you work hard and you want your work to be great; you want all your friends to like it" and it seems like everyone liked her work this year, Beyonce played 95 sold out shows bringing in an average of US$2.4 million in gross for each city she toured in. Add to that her endorsement and partnerships with clothing giant H&M and soda company Pepsi plus her surprise album that was released without any warning on iTunes in December 2013.

Second on the list is 24-year old Taylor Swift with US$64 million, the singer rakes in her cash from live shows, recorded music and her endorsements for Coke, Keds and cosmetics company Covergirl.
Third on the list is P!nk with overall earnings of US$52 million, the singer may not have the same star power as Beyonce or Swift but she made US$1 million in every city she toured during her 85 concert tour.
26-year old Barbados native, Rihanna makes the fourth spot with US$48 million, making her earnings from top hits like "We Found Love" and "Diamonds" as well collaborations with Jay-Z and Eminem.
Katy Perry marks the fifth spot with earnings of US$40 million, earned particularly from endorsements with Covergirl, PopChips and her own signature fragrances.
Other female musicians who made the list include Celine Dion, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert and Shania Twain.
