Fans have been dropping names regarding Captain Marvel and one of the names that were dropped was Jessica Chastain. 

The academy award nominated actress has been linked to Marvel before, but she has now confirmed that she was never in talks about starring as the big screen version of Carol Danvers.

The rumor started after Chastain was interviewed by MTV and she revealed that she did have some conversations with Marvel in the past, the actress recently took to twitter to clarify that the said conversations were not about her playing Captain Marvel, she posted "Uh oh I have never had talks about Captain Marvel. I was referring to a different film from over a year ago during my recent interview with MTV."

The role in question is said to be of Maya Hansen in Shane Black's Iron Man 3, it was said that she was the first choice but Jessica revealed that she did not sign on for the role due to scheduling conflicts. But, Marvel and Jessica Chastain fans should not fret, the actress recently posted on Facebook saying that she hopes that she has another Marvel project in the near future. The role of Maya Hansen came out to be a rather small role in the blockbuster hit led by Robert Downey Jr., actress Rebecca Hall eventually signed on to take the role.

The Iron Man 3 role was not the end of Marvel chatter with the actress, she did say that she has the desire to stop playing someones wife, daughter or girlfriend and instead take on a role of a superhero who got to wear a cool costume.
