Amanda Knox Working as Arts Reporter for Seattle Newspaper

Who can ever tell what the future holds? Take it from Amanda Knox, a twice-convicted murderer who is now enjoying a fledgling career as a journalist. And she's been building her portfolio in a rather inconspicuous manner.

Amanda Knox is the American who was convicted by the Italian court twice for murdering British student Meredith Kercher. She is now working as a freelance reporter for the West Seattle Herald.

Tim Robinson, the paper's associate editor, praised Knox for her professionalism.

"She's a good writer and always meets her deadlines," he said.

Robinson was even happy that Knox joined their group, especially now that she is doing something for the good of many.

"I'm glad to have her contribution, and I'm glad that she's doing something in our community," he continued.

Knox, 27, has been with the paper for a few months. She was using a pen name until she decided to revert to her real name.

It was an interesting story she wrote that got the attention of big media outlets AOL News, New York Magazine, and the Daily Beast. She wrote a review of West Seattle High School's production of Rosencrantz and Gildenstern Are Dead, which was published online on October 27.

Ken Robinson, Tim's brother and the paper's managing editor, recalled that Knox came to his office looking for work. He said she gave her a chance given that she has a good background in the arts.

Ken has no idea why it was only now that the press picked up the news that Knox is already working as a newspaper writer. One thing is for sure: her work has gained an "overwhelmingly positive" response from readers.

Knox had served four years in an Italian prison for her first conviction. In January, she called her second murder conviction "not right and not fair."

Her first conviction was scrapped in 2011 after appeal and Knox was allowed to return to the United States. However, a retrial in January sentenced her to 28½ years in prison.
