The Apple smartwatch has been getting tons of buzz lately and it reportedly costs around US$349.
According to reports from a French Apple blog called iGen, those that want a more high-end version of the product should have around US$4,000 to US$5,000 in to get a hold of the gold Apple Watch.

In comparison, it's much more expensive than a brand new 5K Retina iMac and the new iPad Air 2. If reports are really accurate, it means the 18 karat gadget is equivalent to 10 new iPad Air 2 models. This is one of the many expensive luxury items Apple's offering.
iGen said the info came from a source inside Apple but noted the price isn't confirmed.
Critics and Apple lovers then started asking what would be the appeal of the uber expensive watch if it's going to be outdated in just a few years since Apple strives to better everything almost every year.
Appel hasn't yet addressed the issue. The new smartwatches will be out by Spring 2015.
