Kris plays one of the lead roles in the film which also features Mainland Chinese stars Wang Li Kun and Zhang Chao and was directed by Chinese director Xu Jing Lei. The new song is the second since he released "Time Boils the Rain" a few months ago.
According to Chinese media, Kris decided to release the song today as a present to his fans who have supported him despite his leaving EXO, the 12-member South Korean boy band he used to be a member of.
"There is a Place," which will be featured as one of the original soundtracks of the film, is a sweet and romantic ballad which has been described as "calming and soothing." The piano instrumental accompanied by the former idol's rather emotional voice is indeed a very beautiful present to his fans.
What's more, the 24-year old idol, who made his acting debut through "Somewhere Only We Know," is said to have himself written the lyrics for the song.
Before the song's release, it has been announced that he will be releasing one of his first solo performances since his controversial lawsuit against SM Entertainment, the South Korean talent outfit which manages EXO.
"Somewhere Only We Know," which was filmed in Prague and also features Re Yi Zha, is expected to hit theatres on Valentines' Day in 2015.
