Controversial singer Britney Spears confirms that she is seeing someone new. Rumors have been widely spreading all week that she is dating 31-year old writer-producer Charlie Ebersol.

Spears split with her boyfriend of 18 months, legal researcher David Lucato, in August, citing cheating as a reason.

"By now, everyone knows that my boyfriend cheated on me," she told fans in one of her recent concerts.

When the 32-year old singer was cornered in a gathering in Las Vegas after the official proclamation of Nov. 5 as 'Britney Day' in the city, she confirmed that ''Yes there is a special someone. It's very new.''

Though she did not drop a name, sources say Britney's new boyfriend is possibly Charlie, the son of television executive Dick Ebersol.

''They met through friends and although they're not yet super serious, they're having a lot of fun together,'' sources added.

In 2008, Ebersol was linked to Russian tennis player Maria Sharapova and in 2012, dated actress Sophia Bush of "One Tree Hill".

People also reported that he is listed on The Hollywood Reporter's "Reality Power List" as one of the top TV producers in 2012. The writer-producer is known for his TV series "The Moment", which gives a second chance to men and women to pursue their dream careers.

Early this week, Spears tweeted a photo on her way to an event with his son. Ebersol can also be seen clearly in the background.

The mother of two continued to be positive on her love life despite difficult break-ups in the past. In a past interview, she enthused about her vision of a family life.

"I'd like to have more kids, settle down... have kids, maybe twins and get married. That would be nice," Britney said.
