A three-year-old boy has reportedly died in the hands of his own mother and her boyfriend in a manner a prosecutor pronounced as an "unspeakable act of depravity".
Gary Lee Fellenbaum, 23, and Jillian Tait, 31, were both charged with murder on Thursday for the death of the latter's son, Scott McMillan. The couple were also charged with aggravated assault for the physical abuse suffered by Tait's six-year-old son.

Authorities disclosed that the Pennsylvania couple hit the three-year-old child using a frying pan, then laughed while hanging the boy upside down while beating him. The child subsequently succumbed to the countless injuries he had to endure during the physical abuse. No evidence of alcohol consumption or drug abuse were found by the authorities.
"This is just evilness," Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan stated. "It is an unspeakable act of depravity."
Tait and Fellenbaum met at a Wal-Mart where they were both employees. They moved in together last month. With them in the home was the alienated wife of Fellenbaum, as well as the two sons of Tait and the 11-year-old daughter of the Fellenbaums. They all resided in a mobile home park located close to Coatesville.
In the affidavits submitted by the Fellenbaums and Tait, the three-year-old victim was beaten with a metal rod. He was then taped to a chair where the couple struck him with blunt and sharp objects. McMillan's lifeless body was later examined to be covered with countless bruises, lacerations, and puncture wounds.
"During one incident, Gary hung Scott and (his older brother) up by their feet one at a time and beat the boys while they were hanging upside down. Jillian stated that she and Gary were laughing during the incident," a statement from the affidavits claimed.
Amber Fellenbaum, 21, who had been identified as the estranged wife of Gary, was charged with child endangerment for having failed to seek help for the protection of the victim. Authorities stated that she was the one who placed the 911 call on Tuesday night following the child's unresponsiveness hours after the latest beating.
However, McMillan had already been virtually lifeless for hours. His mother and her boyfriend attempted to revive the boy by putting him in the shower for roughly 30 minutes. Despite this, however, the three-year-old remained unresponsive. Tait and Fellenbaum then decided to leave him on an uninflated mattress. They subsequently headed out to go shopping.
When they returned, the boy still had not moved or showed signs of improvement. Tait and Fellenbaum then consumed the pizza they bought and engaged in sexual intercourse based on the former's statement given to the police. Following these activities, Tait checked on her son. When she found him no longer breathing, she claimed to have screamed for someone to place a 911 call.
Investigators disclosed that Gary severely hit McMillan for rejecting the toast given him on Monday and Tuesday morning. He claimed to have done so to "discipline" the child, which he accomplished by hurling the boy against a wall, punching him off his chair, and then taping him to the chair to deliver more punches.
The six-year-old boy and the 11-month-old infant are both under the care of their closest relatives.
Fellenbaum and Tait are currently detained without bail following their Thursday arraignments. Their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Nov. 14. Amber Fellenbaum was held under a $500,000 bail.
