Maria Shriver, Patrick Schwarzenegger's mom, is not a big fan of Miley Cyrus, to say the least. A source reportedly told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that she does not approve of Patrick's buddng romance with the 21-year-old pop star.

Miley and Patrick, 21, had just begun dating. The two were spotted getting together with a group of friends the day before Halloween. The day after, they were also seen in Patrick's apartment apparently getting ready for the night's festivities.
Despite the two clearly hitting it off, Patrick's 59-year-old mom does not want her son seeing someone like Miley.
Maria "has very strong ideas about what Patrick should be doing with his life and who he should be spending time with and Miley does not fit that plan at all," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
Despite her apparent strong dislike for the outspoken musician, Shriver is reportedly struggling as to how to tell what she feels to her son. The source said she is afraid of telling her son off no matter how much she may dislike Cyrus.
"Maria's never going to come out and say something negative about Miley - that's not her style - but she is pressuring Patrick to drop her. It's a big concern because she sees what Miley stands for: the drugs, the promiscuity," the source added. "She thinks Miley is bad news. She is very concerned about the influence this could have on Patrick."
Apart from Maria wanting her son Patrick to break it off with Miley, her fear of talking to him about it has led to her wanting Patrick to reconcile with his ex, reports Hollywood Life.
"Maria wants Patrick to get back together with his ex-girlfriend, and if not her, at least someone that goes to a university, someone educated," said the source.
Meanwhile, other sources said "It is beyond true that Maria Shriver disapproves of the relationship that Patrick is starting with Miley. She is so controlling when it comes to the image of the family and this is eating her up inside," reports Mail Online.
Unfortunately for Maria, Patrick's dad and her ex-husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, isn't one to support her with her opinion.
"He's telling her to let Patrick do whatever he wants. This is dividing the family even more," said the source.
"She is getting some support from other family members as well, but she isn't getting the same support from Arnold because Arnold is happy with whatever Patrick gets himself into in the girls department," added the insider close to Shriver.
Maria and actor Schwarzenegger, 67, were married for 25 years before splitting in 2011 when their housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena revealed that he had fathered her son, Joseph.
Maria and Arnold divorced, and the journalist moved into a $10 million home she bought near their former home. Maria and Arnold are also parents to Christina, 23, Katherine, 24 and Christopher, 17.
As HollywoodLife.com reported last week, Miley and Patrick spent their Halloween happy together.
"They spent Halloween at the Roosevelt Hotel, then went to her house for the night," a source told US Weekly.
The recent couple of weeks hasn't been good for Shriver. Aside from the Miley issue, her brother Bobby Shriver lost in his election campaign for LA County Supervisor Tuesday.
However, according to Mail Online, on Wednesday, the mother of four was spotted smiling and chatting while on the phone, after having lunch at The Tavern in Brentwood, California.
Shriver was seen donning an all-black ensemble, together with skinny jeans and a figure-hugging tank top, showing off some major curves.
It appears Miley and Patrick are getting more serious with the constant meetups. No matter how much Maria might not like the idea of the union though, it is still up to Patrick to decide who he wants to date.
