There was no doubt that the 2014 EMA's was going to be one of the best awards shows this year, especially with the fiesty Nicki Minaj hosting the show.
But, "Break Free" singer Ariana Grande, best known for her trademark high pony tail and left side of the face only selfies, decided to surprise everyone and do away with her trademark.

The 21-year old arrived at the red carpet with her hair 100% down, and said that she felt naked without her beloved look.
The singer previously revealed that the high pony tail was her mask, it was her shield from the public and that it kept her sane.
In addition to the surprising decision, she rocked a black floor-length dress with cutouts that revealed her cleavage and her waist--she paired the look with high heels and a dark red lip, another surprise is that it seemed like the singer went commando to wear the revealing dress.
The "Problem" singer also performed at the show with her hair down, she also decided to say goodbye to her cat ears.
Ariana received six nominations and went home with two awards, including Best Song for her hit "Problem" which also featured Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea.
Unfortunately, Ariana also decided to ditch boyfriend Big Sean on the red carpet.
The 21-year old singer has been dating the 26-year old rapper for quite some time now, she even instragrammed a snapshot of them on their way to her grandfather's memorial a couple days ago.
