Iraqi military forces on Sunday reached the center of Baiji to dismantle the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL) who have sieged the city, and according to the army colonel, the clashes between the militants and the military might end violently.
Referencing the statement above, reports have also emerged that the Friday attack has wounded the Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

A statement from the United States announced, however, that they still have no solid information or proof that Baghdadi has been hit. This came after television reports have emerged about Baghdadi suffering greatly from the said battle.
While someTwitter accounts belonging to witnesses and ISIL supporters pressed that Baghdadi has been wounded, tweets from other supporters counter the statementsm, insisting there is no truth in the news.
According to a member of the security committee of the Anbar Province, Baghdadi was indeed wounded and was moved to Syria to be cured.
Baiji has been seized by the ISIL militants five months ago and they have surrounded the largest oil refinery in the area resulting to production being halted. Also, they have stopped the operation of the government and the troops designated in the area.
According to reports, the ISIL militants placed bombs along the roads but have been disguised. They also reportedly scattered snipers in the area in order to stop the government forces from entering the captured territories.
The army colonel of the Iraqi military relayed that they entered Baiji from the south and west and they were able to take over the neighborhood of al-Tamim and the city center. The areas taken by the Iraqi troops are six kilometers away from the refinery, adds the colonel.
The colonel also stated that around 12 ISIL militants have already been killed in their attack. However, no other information has been released about this report.
According to the spokesman of the United States military's Central Command, Major Curtis Kellogg, they still cannot confirm whether the reports about the supposed statements of the colonel are true.
Whether the Iraqi troops were present when the U.S.-led coalition struck the convoy located in Mosul on Friday evening is still to be confirmed, Kellogg added.
