Academy and Emmy Award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin shared that he doesn't think he'll be penning a television series after "The Newsroom" wraps up.

"The Newsroom", which stars "Dumb and Dumber" actor Jeff Daniels, recently kicked off its third and final season.

Although Sorkin shared that a lot of people say that you should "never say never", he said that he's pretty sure that he's going to be writing his last three episodes for television.

"All these months later, I still don't see another series in my near future. But, again, you never know. Maybe I'll get another idea," he added.

Aside from "The Newsroom", Sorkin's writing credits also include "The West Wing", "Sports Night" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip".

Sorkin, who not only penned "The Newsroom" but also created the show's concept, admitted that he's experienced more failure on television than success, but that he's loved every minute he's spent working in the said medium. He clarified that his decision to possibly not work again in television is not because he doesn't love it.

His shows after "The West Wing" just simply couldn't match up to the success of the aforementioned, highly acclaimed show.

Some critics have attributed Sorkin's recent "failure" to his idealism, because he has fallen in love too much with his characters that he makes them less flawed and less conflicted than they could actually be. As critics pointed out, conflict, which was lacking, makes for a great story.

Although he will soon be saying farewell to the series, he stated that he feels the third and final season is the best amongst all the show's seasons.

"I didn't want to come back and do the third season unless there was a good story to tell, and we were able to come up with one," he shared.

"The Newsroom" airs every Sunday at 9 pm on HBO.
