Brooklyn Beckham, son of legendary soccer player David Beckham, has just signed his first professional contract with the Premier League's Arsenal F.C. His first contract comes at the tender age of 15.
Initially, the deal is a short-term one and is only effective for the remainder of the 2014-15 season. However, plans are already being made for long-term deals if he continues with his current performance progress.

While David gained fame and fortune with rival team Manchester United, the decision for Brooklyn to play for Arsenal does not come as any surprise.
This is because the younger generations of Beckhams have all been part of the Arsenal youth group for years now.
Apart from Brooklyn, Romeo Beckham is currently a member of the Arsenal Under-13 team, while Cruz Beckham plays for the Under-10 team.
Thus, the news that Brooklyn has signed with the Gunners does not come as much of a surprise.
People might be quick to judge Brooklyn's quick contract signing and may even attribute the reason to the last name he shares with his father. However, this is simply not the case.
An Arsenal source has expanded on the club's decision with several comments on Brooklyn's potential.
"Brooklyn is talented and he has stood out in all of the training sessions and games he has played," the source said. "He has had other teams sniffing around and it was always going to be a case of when, not if, he was signed up by a big-name club."
The source continues on by saying that Arsenal realized that they had a huge talent on their hands and proceeded to protect their asset by signing Brooklyn.
At 15, it may be a while before Beckham suits up to play for the Under-19 team or even the Premier League.
But if he continues to improve, Arsenal fans will soon see him in their team's colors soon enough.
