Hong Kong actress Sonija Kwok reportedly suffered from a miscarriage in April this year, losing her supposed second child with Mainland Chinese martial artist Zhu Shao Jie.

After giving birth to her first child, Kylie, back in 2012, Kwok became pregnant once more with her second child. However, the actress had a miscarriage and as a result, lost a probable son or daughter.

This issue about the actress has not come to light until recently mainly because of Kwok's decision to keep matters with regard to her family private. Afraid that she and her husband, Zhu, may lose their privacy in the process, the actress decided not to share about her miscarriage to the public.

However, on a blog post that the actress recently, wrote, she opened up about the matter, revealing that her supposed second child should have been born last October 31, but unfortunately wasn't able to make it.

On her post, the actress wrote, "He or she decided to become heaven's little angel and left before dad and mom could tell everyone the good news," adding that despite the time that has elapsed since the miscarriage, she would never forget about her unborn child.

Kwok then went to explain that she had a positive pregnancy test last February and was able to hear the fetus' heartbeat through the initial ultrasound. However, the actress also mentioned that she did not feel like she was pregnant as she didn't go through the usual symptoms.

Eventually, the actress sought for medical advice and found out that the baby didn't have a heartbeat. Her doctor was not able to point out the cause.

"At that moment, I felt heartbroken," says Kwok.

According to the actress, she has gotten over her grief and feels comfortable discussing the issue now. Furthermore, she stated that the miscarriage did not leave her discouraged, and expressed that she wishes to have another child in the future.
