Sheh and Chung have both starred in popular dramas this year. With the positive reception of their dramas, 'Line Walker' and 'All That is Bitter is Sweet' respectively, the two actresses are said to have garnered the attention of viewers as well as that of the company board that would be hosting said awards ceremony.
An insider source reported that a majority of the higher management of TVB, Sheh and Chung's managing company, had been in favor of the former during the meeting that was held for the Best Actor and Best Actress awards. According to the same source, the management voted for Sheh mainly because she makes time to attend ceremony awards despite of her packed schedule.
However, the insider also added that Chung deserves a shot at the Best Actress award as well since she has helped TVB in many ways throughout her career.
Additionally, since word surfaced that Sheh is being favored by TVB due to her attendance at awards ceremonies, Chung has allegedly taken the initiative to show up at various event, including the birthday party of veteran actress and TVB chief Virginia Lok.
According to Hong Kong media reports, Chung has urged Herman Ho, who is the CEO of her recording label Voice Entertainment, to do all that he can in order to fight for the award.
Furthermore, the CEO is said to have asked his producer wife, Sandy Yue, to the air 'Tiger Cubs II' which features Chung in order for the actress to gain more exposure, thus a higher possibility for her to win the award.
On the other hand, despite 'Line Walker' being her comeback drama after a three-year hiatus, Sheh is said to have returned with success after the TVB production became the most-watched TV program of this year. Other than that, the actress is said to have already been invited for the awards.
