Hong Kong media reports that after actor Raymond Lam's departure from TVB, the company has decided to replace him by putting more emphasis on promoting Ruco Chan.
After Lam, who has recently confirmed that he has signed a contract with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), which was his former recording label, left TVB, it has been reported that the talent outfit found it necessary to fill the void that the very popular actor has vacated.

It was rumoured that the entertainment agency and station has emphasized on promoting actor Edwin Siu first after Lam left, but this claim has not been clarified by TVB. Now, media outlets are reporting that TVB will be giving more exposure to actor Ruco Chan.
Furthermore, the company is said to have chosen the 37-year old actor to replace Lam due to his various talents besides being an actor and the positive image he gives off to the public.
When asked to react about the rumours, Chan responded humbly, saying that if the company wants to, it can promote any artist and can provide more exposure to many others as well. He then stated that every artist in the entertainment industry like him works hard in order to make a name for himself.
As for replacing Lam, Chan said, "Everyone has his or her own road. It's not possible to replace someone." He then added that his main priority is his acting career and that he hopes he would be able to gain a positive reception among viewers.
As for his current activities, Chan revealed that he plans to explore his opportunities in the music industry next year. However, right now, the actor shared that he would like to sing television program theme songs.
On the other hand, other artists that TVB is said to be planning to promote include former Miss Hong Kong contestants Grace Chan and Sisley Choi. Kenneth Ma, Him Law, Priscilla Wong, Brian Tse and Lin Xia Wei also made it to the list of artists that TVB allegedly favors.
