Former child star and Hollywood actress Brooke Shields reveals that she has lost her virginity to 'Lois and Clark' actor Dean Cain at the age of 22 and is writing about it in her new book, 'The Brooke Book', also writing about the importance of staying a virgin in her teens and how her mother has influenced that aspect of her life.

Based on a media outlet, Shileds, now a mother of two and was the former wife of tennis star Andre Agassi, revealed that she has lost her virginity to Cain in her teen memoir which she calls 'The Brooke Book'.

In the book, Shields explained the importance of maintaining her virginity when she had been a teenager, saying that her mother, Teri Shields, had a great impact on the first time she has had sex, an incident which happened with Cain when they were only college students.

The 49-year old actress reveals that she and Cain met at their alma mater, Princeton University, stating that they instantly clicked and became 'instantly crazy' for each other. The actress wrote that she and Cain always held hands and always tried to find ways to be alone. However, Shields said that she made the actor wait.

"I think it was more tortuous for him because I was used to shutting that part of me off," Shields wrote regarding her sexuality. She also added that she had been focusing on her mother, who seemed to be 'omnipresent' and that she felt as if Teri had been watching her the whole time.

Shields later related that she finally slept with Cain when she was 22, but after that, she felt snowed under about the whole scenario. The actress revealed that after that, she ran away from Cain.

"I didn't know where I began and where my mother ended," Shields wrote. "And that meant I didn't know how to fit Dean in."

She then revealed that they broke up shortly after they slept together.

On the other hand, when the 49-year old informed Cain that she would be writing about the matter in her book, the actor stated that as long as she was happy about it, he would be comfortable with whatever she decides on.

She later praised the actor, describing him as a good and a sweet guy.

Cain, who responded to the matter on an interview on Fox411 also stated that the actress had been a very big part of his life and he felt honored having been in her life. "If she chooses to write about it, that's fine with me," he said.
