British authorities are still trying to confirm reports from Ukraine that Samantha Lewthwaite, the terror suspect known as the White Widow, was shot dead.
Lewthwaite, 30, reportedly was shot and killed by a Russian-backed sniper in Eastern Ukraine earlier this month. However, a body has not been produced and only Moscow-based Regnum News Agency has confirmed the death.

Some observers have dismissed the report as propaganda. No personal papers or evidence existed that Lewthwaite was even in Ukraine, nor was it known how she got involved with Ukrainian forces. Aside from the lack of a body, no photos or other evidence related to the killing was revealed by Regnum News Agency.
For the record, Alexy Toporiv, a journalist embedded with Ukrainian rebels aligned with the Kremlin, said Lewthwaite was shot by a Russian sniper two weeks ago while fighting with Ukrainian forces. Toporiv said she died a "slow and agonizing death" while fighting with the pro-Ukrainian Aidar group.
A former editor in Tatarstan who very publicly has opposed radical Muslims, Toporiv said Lewthwaite entered the fighting under an assumed name and was employed as a sniper in the Donetsk area. "The White Widow ended in a bad way," he said. "She killed many of our guys."
Toporiv described the sniper who may have taken the White Widow out as very young, but experienced. The sniper turned down a $5 million Interpol reward for her death, he said.
A notorious, and highly publicized, jihadist, Lewthwaite was married to Germaine Lindsay, a British suicide bomber who staged the infamous "7/7" London subway attack that killed 26 commuters in July 2005. Lewthwaite bolted from England in 2009.
Since then, the White Widow has led a mysterious and apparently violent life. She was associated with the Islamic terrorists who attacked a Nairobi, Kenya mall last year. She later was linked to ISIS, reportedly training female terrorists to become suicide bombers in Syria.
