Court papers indicate that Yoselyn Ortega, the nanny who allegedly stabbed two children to death, regretted what she did saying, "Oh, my God, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I've done."
Marina Krim, the mother of the two children, was out to pick up her other daughter from a swimming lesson when Ortega killed 6-year-old Lucia and 2-year-old Leo at their home in the Upper West Side.

After the incident, Ortega attempted to commit suicide by cutting her throat. She collapsed in the bathroom but lived to plead not guilty to the murder.
After being hospitalized due to injuries, the court found the nanny fit for trial after phone calls with relatives. She gave reasonable advice to her son as they discussed renovations on the phone.
Defense attorney Valerie Van Leer-Greenberg filed the papers Friday and requested the media be barred from the court hearing but it was denied by the state Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro.
Ortega is a Dominican Republic native, a detail which caused many people to irrationally judge the Krim family for hiring a foreign native to take care of their children.
Despie the tragic event, Marina kept her blog "Life with the Little Krim Kids", which features memories of her children Lucia, whom she calls LuLu, and Leo.
In honor of Lulu and Leo, the Krims created the LuLu & Leo Fund. It helps children and families foster creativity and art through programs.
Her children loved artworks and the Fund is surely a fitting way to honor their memories. In her blog, she said, "It is important to us that they are remembered as the sweet, creative and fun-loving children that they were."
Though Ortega's words of regrets cannot take back what has already been done, the Krims already learned to stay strong to honor their two children's past by leading other children to bright futures.
