'Dancing with the Stars' frontrunner Alfonso Ribeiro could potentially have to withdraw from the competition after sustaining a back injury during rehearsals last Wednesday, November 12, as reported by a media outlet called TMZ.
According to the report, Ribeiro might not be able to perform on Monday's semifinals due to his injury. His representative has confirmed that he had been injured during said rehearsals through an official statement given to TVGuide.com.

"He is currently under medical evaluation," says his rep, however, it has not yet been confirmed whether or not the 43-year old actor-dancer would be able to perform on the semifinals.
According to the initial reports done by TMZ Ribeiro injured his band for 'overcompensating' for his previous groin injury while performing his signature move during the Carlton Dance which was held last month.
Ribeiro's injury is said to be so bad that he is allegedly having a difficult time walking and had to skip rehearsals last Thursday. The same day, the actor is said to have gotten an MRI and has since been watching his partner, Witney Carson, practice their routines with a substitute.
In an interview with a media outlet earlier this week, the actor-dancer revealed that he has not expected his body to give in as early as it did, but assured the public that he was set to make it to the finals.
According to Ribeiro, there are only three weeks left and three shows for him to deal with the pain his injuries have resulted to. Until then, he says that he would take the time to rest and recover.
"It'll be really nice once that happens, but hopefully I can stay on the show all the way to the end and make it to the final, and deliver a hopefully amazing performance on the finale," says Ribeiro.
