Beijing deployed 150 armed anti-terrorist response units on Monday in reaction to a spate of deadly attacks against civilians in the Chinese capital state.
According to Xinhua, China's official news agency, the units, composed of 13 men each, were deployed in order to counter street terrorism and severe violence that came recently in waves.

The anti-terror units will focus on incidents that involve guns, bombs and mass violence, Xinhua reported.
Currently, security is being tightened across major Chinese cities after a spate of attacks took place and has claimed more than a dozen lives.
This year alone, three separate attacks took place on Chinese train stations. State media reported that the attacks were perpetrated by assailants carrying knives.
Beijing said that at least two attacks were religiously motivated and carried out by religious extremists from Xinjiang, China's western province.
The most severe attack took place at a Kunming station on March 1 in which 29 people and four assailants were killed. State media labeled the incident as China's own "9/11."
However, it's still not clear if the increased presence of security personnel, let alone an anti-terror unit, is a specific intelligence response for anticipated new attacks or simply a government attempt to appease the wary public.
Li Juan, Xinjiang Police College's anti-terrorism expert, said in an interview with China Daily that the anti-terror deployments must become a regular and permanent fixture for purposes of public safety.
He also said that it should not be a short-term campaign to a possible long-term threat.
The deployment of troops last Monday also comes a month ahead of the 25th anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen massacre that took place of June 4.
Student demonstrators were arrested and killed during the demonstrations and since then made Beijing nervous.
Last week, Pu Zhiqiang, one of the most respected human rights lawyer in China was arrested. Pu was charged of "picking quarrels and provoking trouble" after participating in a seminar on deadly military crackdown.
Supporters of Pu believe the Communist Party is trying to silence Pu before the Tiananmen anniversary.
