Andy Lau’s Presence at Wayne Lai’s Musical “Scars of the Sea”: Could Be a Prelude to a Joint Theatre Project

Wayne Lai, Joyce Koi and Emily Kwan staged the last showdown of "Scars of the Sea" on November 17.  It reaped positive reactions from the audience as it portrays the saga of Tang Man Mei, a Cantonese opera star in 1930's. The biographical play premiered at the Sunbeam Theatre on November 8, Jayne Stars reported.

The character of Tang Man Mei was portrayed by Joyce, also a Cantonese opera singer. She admitted having encountered difficulties to master Tang's voice. Also a neophyte opera performer, Wayne shared stressful experiences as they get ready for the "Scars of the Sea."  Aside from singing, the star has to stand putting on an old-age makeup which he did for the first time. The stylist came up with measures to minimize irritation on Wayne's sensitive skin, for he needs to wear the old-age makeup.

Considering that it was his initial stage production, Wayne is vocal about his apprehensions saying that he was terrified of everything.

Also in attendance are "Overachievers' stars Raymond Cho and Raymond Wong Ho Yin to support Wayne Lai's musical.

Andy Lau's presence also attracted the media's attention despite efforts to maintain a low profile projection. He surprisingly arrived to support Raymond To, the award-winning writer who penned "Scars of the Sea".

He went to meet the cast and express his desire to try his luck in theatrical plays and be able to work with Raymond To, Wayne Lai and Joyce Koi in a project.
