Miss Honduras World Maria Jose Alvarado had disappeared with her sister Sofia Trinidad days before her flight to London for the international competition.

Though not enough evidence have proven that the case involves crime, four people are detained and under investigation including the sister's boyfriend.

The sisters was seen getting into a car to leave a birthday party before their disappearance. The owner of the spa, where the party was held, is also being investigated.

Miss Honduras is among the youngest contestants in the competition. One hundred and twenty-one delegates are set to arrive in London on November 20. The contestants would be participating in challenges and events as part of the competition. Days before the set arrival date, police are still looking for the missing beauty queen.

With its poverty, corruption and other political issues, Honduras is one of the most dangerous countries in the world. San Pedro Sula is the 'murder capital' of the world with a murder rate of 169 per 100,000 people.

In April 26, Alvarado won the Miss World title on April 26 after competition with eighteen contestants in the San Pedro Sula.

Miss World China's contestant is Du Yang from Beijing, a landscape gardener.

Miss World United States is lobbyist Elizabeth Safrit, who hopes to become a political broadcaster.

The Miss World pageant is the oldest standing international beauty pageant in history. The competition finals will be held on December 14, 2014 where reigning Megan Young of Miss Philippines will pass on the crown to next winning beauty queen.
