Upcoming Bill Cosby projects scheduled for NBC and Netflix were canceled as sexual abuse allegations continued to gain traction against the once-popular comedian and actor.
Meanwhile, a Cosby attorney issued a statement denying the latest claim by former supermodel Janice Dickinson that Cosby sexually abused her in the 1980s while he was star of America's TV top-rated "Cosby Show." Dickinson is the fifth woman to come forward with public accusations of abuse and assault leveled against Cosby.

In canceling its relationship with Cosby, NBC issued a statement saying that the Cosby project "is no longer in development." The Comcast Corp.-owned network didn't provide additional details.
The NBC show was in its early stages without a script, but would have marked the return of Cosby, 77, to network TV playing a role similar to his Dr. Cliff Huxtable role of "The Cosby Show," that ran from 1984 to 1992, a patriarch of an extended family.
NBC's move came one day after Netflix ditched Cosby's standup special, which already had been recorded for broadcast.
The live streaming service that has become a major entertainment industry player issued a statement Tuesday evening saying it had decided to ditch the show that had been scheduled to debut Nov. 28.
"At this time we are postponing the launch of the new stand-up comedy special, 'Bill Cosby 77,'" Netflix said.
The two cancellations came on the heels of negative public reaction to continued revelations about Cosby's alleged sexual misconduct. While he had settled at least two sexual abuse complaints with out-of-court settlements with the victims at undisclosed terms with non-disclosure agreements, he has never been charged with a crime.
The Cosby situation gained public notice, and traction, again recently when cutting-edge comedian Hannibal Buress called him out during stand-up comedy routines that reverberated through social media.
One Cosby accuser, former actress and current artist Barbara Bowman, ran a column in The Washington Post earlier this month detailing Cosby's alleged sexual abuse of her several times in 1985. She was 17 years old at the time and said she didn't go to police then due to fears she wouldn't be believed.
Former supermodel, and reality TV star, Dickinson came forward Tuesday on "Entertainment Tonight" accusing Cosby of drugging and raping her at Lake Tahoe in the 1980s.
Well-known Los Angeles entertainment attorney Martin Singer, representing Cosby, called Dickinson's charges "an outrageous and defamatory lie."
