Notoriously known as the "omnipotent doctor," Hu Wanlin, was sentenced yet again, this time for 15 years for killing patients he said he could heal. It was Hu's second jail sentence for the same crime.
Hu was first sentenced to life imprisonment for crime of murder back in 1982, reports Shanghai Daily. In 1994, he started treating his fellow prison inmates, and ended up killing a total of 14 prisoners he was treating. The prison authority had to issue a notice banning Hu from "practicing" medicine.

Less than three yeas ago, he was last released from prison after serving 11 years and two months of his previous sentence. This time around, Hu was also fined 200,000 yuan ($32,680) by the Luoyang City Intermediate People's Court of central China's Henan Province for the death of a college student.
Hu create a stir in China in 1998 when a book on traditional Chinese medicine described him as an "omnipotent doctor" with "his eyes as good as an X-Ray and CT!," reports Shanghai Daily. The book, authored by Ke Yunlu, said Hu had cured 6,400 cancer patients, made 5,420 deaf people hear, and treated 1.2 million patients.
But the "omnipotent" doctor didn't see trouble coming again, as later that year Hu killed the mayor of Luohe City in Henan, Liu Faming, who had consumed one of Hu's elixirs.
Hu had given Liu a cup of Sodium sulfate, also known as Glauber's salt. Sodium sulfate was used as a laxative until the end of the 19th century, and is now mainly used for making detergents and pulping paper. After Liu's death, Hu was sentenced to 15 years in jail in 2000.
Hu was released on December 2011, but despite all the deaths he caused, he still promoted himself as a doctor. Hu and some so-called "disciples" were arrested yet again in September 2013 after a college student dies drinking one of the doctor's medicinal soups.
