Taylor Swift sets another chart history after defeating, well, herself, after her single "Blank Space," zoomed from No. 13 to No. 1, claiming the top spot from the equally-smash hit, "Shake It Off."

"Shake it Off" reigned at the Hot 100 chart for four consecutive weeks.

Swift's back-to-back success made her the first female singer in Hot 100's 56-year history to succeed herself at the top spot.

"Blank Space," which is included in Swift's latest album, 1989, zoomed to the No. 1 spot after its official music video was released Nov. 10.

The success of "Blank Space" gives Swift her third Hot 100 No. 1. The first was "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" in 2012, which stayed on the top spot for three weeks, followed by "Shake."

With this feat, Swift is so far the 10th artist to hold the record. The Beatles was the first in Billboard's Hot 100 to succeed a No. 1 single with another No. 1 hit, with three No. 1's a row, "I Want to Hold Your Hand," "She Loves You" and "Can't Buy Me Love" in 1964. The act's feat was followed by Boyz II Men (1994), Puff Daddy  (1997), Ja Rule (2002), Nelly (2002), OutKast (2004), Usher (2004), T.I. (2008); and the Black Eyed Peas (2009).

Swift is so far the only singer for 2014 to have two Hot 100 No. 1s.

Meanwhile, her album 1989, is the first album since Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist ("Thrift Shop," "Can't Hold Us") last year to see two of its singles at Billboard's Hot 100. Her album is also the first for a female singer since Adele's 21 sent "Rolling in the Deep," and "Someone Like You" to reach the No. 1 spot.

Nielsen BDS explained that the release of the single's music video also triggered the album to hit the No. 1 spot on the Streaming Songs chart. The single enjoyed more than 19.2 million streams in the U.S. alone, in the week ending Nov. 16.

Swift's win only placed second to Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" which got 32.1 million streams in one week, following its video launch on Sept. 6.
