Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie is not giving up her acting career just yet.

Reports have surfaced that the acclaimed actress-turned-director will soon be bidding adieu to her work as an actress, surprising both her fans and netizens.

Although it's true that the actress' time are now divided with being a mother of six, humanitarian, and director of her new film Unbroken, Jolie, whose most recent smash hit was Maleficent, where she rebranded the heinous Disney villainess into an unlikely heroine, believes is not yet time to retire from acting.

I see myself moving into directing more and doing much less as an actor," Jolie tells EW.

"I have a few more in me, ones I have been developing for some time, so I will do those before I step away."

Next year, her fans will see her on screen in her new movie, By the Sea, the film Jolie wrote, directed and starred in alongside new husband Brad Pitt.

The couple tied the knot August this year.

Jolie revealed that the movie featured very dramatic scenes, which was a challenge since she had to direct and act in the film at the same time.

"It was a new experience as I had to direct myself and Brad in very dramatic and emotional scenes," she said.

The film is a relationship drama set in 1970s France, the first time that the husband and wife will work together since the two starred in the box-office hit Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005.

However, the film is very different from their first film together.

"[By the Sea] is a very different film than our first. It's heavy. We really had to help each other. And we did," she said.

Jolie's latest directorial work, Unbroken, was shown at its world premiere in Australia. Unbroken is based on the life of war hero and Olympian Louis Zamperini.

The PoW survivor had high regards for Jolie, saying she "became a great part of my life."

"She knows what she wants, and she knows what she's doing, and I trust her one hundred per cent. I have all the confidence in the world that Unbroken will be a great film," he wrote.

When his message was read to Jolie at the world premiere, the actress-director fell into tears before she composed herself and resumed the photo ops.
