Rockstar issued an emergency update for Grand Theft Auto V that fixes the character transfer bug a lot of players complained about a few days ago.
The update is currently available for download on all platforms and players should already be able to join Grand Theft Auto Online with no issues.

The first day of the GTA V update seemed to have caused some problems on PlayStation 4. Several players, including Martin Robinson of Eurogamer, received an error code CE-32937-4 while trying to download the 1.14 GB patch.
Players were able to play even without the patch but it still must be downloaded and installed so the player can transfer his or her character from the last-gen versions of GTA V to a current generation version. Players also need to do that to use GTA Online.
Rockstar urgently investigated the issue that prevented some GTA V users from transferring profiles to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. It seemed the issue affected players that haven't played the game's multiplayer version, GTA Online.
When they attempted to transfer, players got this message: "No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account." Going back to GTA Online on Xbox 360 and PS3 didn't work, as well.
GTA V PS3 and Xbox 360 players upgrading to the new versions will earn a lot of in-game benefits. There will be a lot of changes, including 30 players being able to play together and a $500,000 in-game money boost.
GTA V will have 100 new songs, improved weather and damage effects, more wildlife, weapons and activities.
