Fliers containing the names of four suspected campus "rapists" are being disseminated at Columbia University in New York in a possible vigilante attempt to notify women of impending sexual assaults.
A flier with the heading "Rapists on Campus" acquired by CNN includes the names of the suspected offenders. Three of the names were said to be of men found accountable by the university for being involved in sexual violations, while the other one is known as a serial rapist.

A student-managed independent news website said in a statement that it is demanding a staff member who was named in the list to permanently resign from his position right away.
The statement also said that their decision to call for the staff's resignation does not mean they are taking sides on the guilt or innocence of the person, nor are they saying something about the facts or allegations against him.
Nobody knows who is responsible for the dissemination of the fliers around campus, and the university refused to comment about it.
The campaign garnered support and ire from the people on campus. Some students praised the act as a "vigilante" effort that intends to protect the women on campus, while others referred to it as some form of a "witch hunt".
Sophomore student Cami Quarta, who claimed that she had survived a sexual assault, told CNN affiliate WPIX that she believes that whoever wrote the contents of the flier is not doing this just for fun.
Twenty three students had filed a federal complaint early this month against Columbia University for allegedly failing to give protection to the sexual assault victims, based on the collective statement of the students.
The complaint filed by the students, called Our Stories CU, said that the university is not encouraging students to report any incidents of sexual assaults, lets the perpetrators stay on campus, gives inadequate sanctions for sexual assault perpetrators, and singles out students based on their sexual orientations.
