Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung's managing company, AEG Entertainment, has fired back against the previous comments made by renowned director, Johnny To, about the actress.
Previously, it had been reported that To, who was promoting his latest film, 'Don't Go Breaking My Heart 2', allegedly insulted the actress for having such a 'messy' life. The famed director allegedly commented that he honestly did not want to cast Cheung in any of his upcoming films due to the fact that she is always surrounded with negative gossip, has a complicated life and that she is a divorcee.

Although Cheung did not directly comment about the director's claims, AEG Entertainment, her talent outfit, retaliated against To, dubbing his comment 'inconsiderate'. The CEO of the company, Yu Yu Xing, said, "I am pleased for him, but at the same time feel hurt and sad for him."
According to the CEO, he acknowledges that To is a celebrated actor in Hong Kong and also stated that he is happy about the director's new film which will be making its debut soon. However, Yu stated that in order for To to promote his new film, he had to talk about Cheung's divorce which actually made headlines for two days.
Yu expressed that he is disappointed that To had to make such comments about the actress, adding that his words undermined his status as a respected filmmaker in the entertainment industry.
Furthermore, Yu emphasized that although he understand that the entertainment industry nowadays is very competitive in nature, he believes that there are other ways for people to promote their work without having to step on others just to create media buzz.
As for To's claims that only a few directors would like to cast Cheung in their films, the AEG CEO dismissed it, explaining that the actress has a lot of scripts to choose from and that she is merely choosing her script tactfully.
