The Obamacare has once again been on the spotlight as the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Thursday that they made a mistake on the calculated enrollments regarding the Affordable Care Act.

According to the news report, the miscalculation of enrollments includes the 380,000 dental plans causing the administration of United States President Barack Obama to be allowed to claim over seven million paid enrolments. More than seven million enrollees is called as the "magic number" for a health insurance to be considered as sustainable.

The reports first surfaced from an article published by Bloomberg News and has noted that the information came from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The news report cited that an HHS official never mentioned the miscalculation on September 18 when the enrollment numbers were given. Dental plans are accounted separately from medical plans.

Marilyn Tavenner of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released a statement about the more than seven million Americans enrolled in the system pressing that as of August 15, 2014, the individuals under the Obamacare have paid their premiums.

After a week of Tavenner's announcement, the same information has been announced by HSS Secretary Sylvia Burwell saying that the more than seven million Americans already signed up for the affordable care.

The figures are controversial as reports have pressed that there are over a million subscribers who have backed out from the Obamacare due to employer coverage, becoming eligible for Medicaid, or sometimes, it is attributed to the fact that enrollees no longer pay their premiums.

Burwell then issued an apology on Thursday as critics noted that the inflation of the number of enrollees was a downplay to make up for the lost enrollees. Burwell then said that their department is already investigating on the discrepancy noting that it was unacceptable. The real figures will soon be released once the information is obtained, Burwell added.

The troubling report came days after the Obama administration was scrutinized for the reports that surfaced regarding lawmakers using deception in order to pass the health insurance law back in 2010.
