After the National Football League (NFL) Commissioner, Roger Goodell, suspended Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson for the season due to child abuse charges, Peterson came out and vowed to never use a switch to discipline his child again.
Peterson has always been quiet regarding the child abuse scandal involving his four-year old son.

However, Goodell suspended Peterson for the rest of the 2014 season, the six-time Pro Bowler finally came out to weigh in on a few things in an interview with USA Today.
During the interview, Peterson said that he had felt remorse when he saw the damage he had left on his son's leg.
"No one knows that Dad sat there and apologized to him, hugged him and told him that I didn't mean to do this to you and how sorry I was, Peterson said."
He continued by saying that he loves his son, his kids, and his family. He took full responsibility for his actions after he took his misdemeanour plea.
Peterson also addressed Goodell's statement saying that he showed no meaningful remorse for his actions.
In time, Peterson said that he will have his time to sit and talk face-to-face with Goodell. He indicated that in his statement, he showed he was remorseful and regretted everything that took place.
In a separate interview with ESPN's Chris Mortensen, he also promised that he would never use a switch again to punish his children, and is seeking for other ways to exact discipline.
As to Peterson's future in the NFL, he said he would love to go back and play with Vikings again. However, if he will be released, then he is at peace with that decision too.
"I would have to get back in the community and get a feel. I know who loves me... The organization, I know there's people in the organization that support me and there's people that I know internally that has not been supporting me."
