Algieri took a 40 minute break after to shed some perspiration. The boxer came back and weigh in 143.6 pounds. Before coming to the venue, the boxer was confident that he will hit the mark limit and even sent out a photo of his breakfast on Twitter. His meal consists of fruit, cereal and noodles.

"I'd rather be well fed and feel good than sucked out and drawn," he said. "But it is strange because I weighed in on the limit on the same set of scales in the hotel. Maybe the scales were affected when they were brought over to the arena."

When ask about the mishap, Pacquiao said that Algieri looks dehydrated coming to the venue. He also added that he's 'disapointed' about his weight.

Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's coach, commented that the incident was 'embarrassing' to Algieri because he's 'supposed to be a health and nutrition expert'.

Promoter Joe DaGuardia of Algeiri's team said that they are still confident that their boxer will win the fight. Algieri, former kickboxer, is trying to improve his boxing status in fighting against the veteran and more accomplished boxer.

According to ESPN, Pacquiao is making his first attempt to defend his current title after winning unanimously against Timothy Bradledy Junior in April. He is also trying to push Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to fight him next in the boxing arena.
