A ginseng business was launched on an e-commerce platform to help the traditional Chinese herb strengthen its global sales.
The launch of the business-to-customer e-commerce platform on Wednesday has an investment valued at CNY20 million.
The platform was called ihealbox which is also seen to be the largest ginseng B2C online firm. This was according to Jilin Provincial National E-commerce Industrial park chairperson Teng Hongyan.

Hongyan is also the operator behind the ginseng platform based in Jilin province's capital, Changchun.
The newly launched ginseng business platform allows global customers to pay their purchased products through online payment system PayPal.
The annual revenue of the company has been expected to hit USD200 million, reported WantChinaTimes.
International purchases done through ihealbox would be delivered by DHL, UPS and Fedex. The three logistic providers offer services in more than 100 countries.
Ginseng is also known as Ginnsuu in China. It is a common source of energy in ancient times and recent research shows that the herb can treat influenza and RSV infection. In China, ginseng is believed to promote the overall health of an individual.
The traditional Chinese herb is also dubbed to be the king of all herbs. It is considered to be nutritious and had been used as a traditional Chinese medicine for more than 3,000 years.
Ginseng is widely grown in the eastern part of the Asian region. The Changbai Mountain in Jilin province has been known to be the biggest production site of ginseng in the world.
The base in Jilin province has an 85 percent production rate in the total output of the country. It also makes up 70 percent of the world's total ginseng output.
Products that are ginseng based are available on the website including capsules, coffee and powder. The platform also offers other herbs including edible fungus and ganoderma.
Currently, the ihealbox website uses English, but would be developed to cater other languages including French, Russian, Italian, German, traditional Chinese and Spanish, said Teng.
