Bumble is the New Tinder; Former Tinder Execs Fashion New Dating App

A co-founder of Tinder recently left the company to launch a new dating app called "Bumble" that mirrors Tinder.

Whitney Wolfe left the company earlier this year and has sued Justin Mateen, the company's CMO and her former boyfriend, for sexual harassment. Wolfe then teamed up with two other ex-Tinder executives, namely former Tinder COO Chris Gulczynski and former Tinder VP of design Sarah Mick, to set-up Bumble.

Bumble has started its own Facebook page and claims it's a more proper place for people to meet.

"Bumble is the proper place to meet people. It's everything you've always wanted from a social discovery app with none of the things you don't. Other apps are full of creepy guys and cheesy pickup lines -- but Bumble promotes a safe and respectful community," says Bumble in its FB page.

Bumble says users will never get unwanted messages as Bumble will suggest matches based on "relevant" signals. It said people should stop wasting time on unwanted matches and switch to Bumble.

Bumble's design reportedly mirrors that of Tinder. Bumble users can create their accounts using their own Facebook pages. Photos dominate the interface but Bumble can also display job titles and the education of its users.

Bumble users can search for people living nearby for best matches but they can also search for people in areas farther away. Users can swipe over the users they like then dismiss those they don't.

The feature that sets Bumble apart from Tinder is that females can only be the one to initiate the conversation but within 24 hours. Men can, however, extend the conversation by another 24 hours for every one match.

The app is now live in Apple's app store but Android hasn't announced if Bumble will be available soon on Google Play.
