In 1972, "The Godfather" got the prestigious award, followed by "Serpico" and "Paper Moon" in 1973. 1974 was equally triumphant with two of their films made it to the awards night, the "Murder of the Orient" and "Chinatown."

His demise was revealed by Eddy Yablans in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Prior to his assignment at Paramount Pictures, Yablans also served in various capacities at the MGM/United Artists with Kirk Kerkorian. His achievements include the production of "Congo," "Mommie Dearest,"an adaptation and "North Dallas Forty."
It was such a perfect time for MGM/UA when Yablans joined their company. The company back then was struggling with unproductive staff and personnel who remained in their seats while the company is on the verge of bankruptcy. Yablans offered the much needed professional assistance which indeed put the company back on track. However, he decided to leave even if he still have five more years before the contract ends. Knowing that operations are stabilized and the company is already up on its own, Yablans decided to move forward.
Born to a taxi driver in New York, Yablans effort to achieve what he has made for himself required a certain degree of perseverance. He has been with Warner Bros. before he became executive vice-president of Paramount Pictures sometime in the 60's.
He managed the tasks of a president's post at the age of 31, when he was appointed studio president of Paramount Pictures. A remarkable performance in the field of sales and marketing earned him the position. He helped Arthur Hiller in its 1970 romantic drama, "Love Story" which eventually became a blockbuster movie, and in the following year, the reigns were handed to him.
