Reese Witherspoon shared that her daughter is embarrassed by her nude scenes in her new movie "Wild", based on the true story of Cheryl Strayed, a woman who hiked solo for 100 miles as a way to recover from a tragedy.

The 38-year old actress shared that because she had to appear naked in some scenes, she had to sit down and explain her decision to do so to her 15-year old daughter Ava.

When she told Ava that she appeared nude in the movie, her daughter felt embarrassed by it, saying, that it was "so weird".

She said that she told her daughter that she had to be brave, because the character of Strayed also had to be brave to tell her own story.

Although she felt that nudity was necessary, the mother of three did admit that she would feel weird too if her mother did the same thing - which Ava actually pointed out.

Witherspoon shared, "She's like, 'I know but if this was Grandma Betty...' I said, 'You're right, that would be really, really weird!' But she's very proud of me."

The actress, who is mother to Ava, 11-year old Deacon and 2-year old Tennessee, said that she would encourage her children to join Hollywood if they ever decided that it was the path they wanted to take.

Ava and Deacon are her children with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, while Tennessee is her son with husband Jim Toth.

Witherspoon admitted that she previously regretted not being able to attend college because she started working as an actress when she was still a child. However, she feels that she has gained a lot by being in the business she is in.

According to the actress, she's seen the world and met a lot of people along the way through her work.

"I've had a wonderful life and I've been everywhere and I've gotten to work with creative people and tell stories. That's all I ever wanted to do. So if [my kids] wanted to do it, I'd be very encouraging," she added.
