Frozen 2, meanwhile, is "in the works," the actress revealed in an interview with the Telegraph.
"That they're all in the works. Not the stage show - I don't know what will happen with that - but the movie hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride," she said.
Frozen, which earned over US$1 billion in the box office since its November 2013 release, is now the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
The film's song, "Let It Go," sung by Menzel, also became a chart-topping hit.
The 43-year-old Menzel revealed that she was also surprised by the colossal success of the movie, which established her popularity, spawning a fan base among children and teens.
"I remember some of those classic Disney songs from movies, and you knew the character but you didn't know the person behind the song. But this is different, this is weird," she recalled.
While plans for a full-length feature sequel is still being planned, fans could satiate themselves for the meantime in watching Menzel and co-stars Kristen Bell and Josh Gadd in the one-off short, Frozen Fever, next year. The stars are slated to reprise their roles.
Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will still direct the mini-adventure, although it's not yet confirmed if the short will appear on theatres or will be shown on TV instead.
A new original song written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who scored an Oscar for "Let It Go" will be featured in the short.
