Shawn Yue Takes on a Role in a Government-Sponsored Film for Free

Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue recently revealed that he will be playing the role of a depressed individual for free in an upcoming film that is said to have been financed by the Hong Kong government.
Media reports have revealed that Yue will be taking on a role without getting paid for an upcoming film which is yet to be announced. Recently, Yue has attended a Christmas event sponsored by Starbucks in Tsim Sha Tsui where he revealed the news.

In addition, the 33-year old actor stated that he wasn't the only actor who agreed to do so, saying that he will be joined by others as well and that they will all be working for free. The 'Love in the Buff' star shared that he and his fellow actors are also looking forward to it and that they are confident about the script, a factor that made them decide to work on the government-sponsored project without compensation.
"I have been in this business for more than a decade. I am not taking any money this time around because I think the script is truly great and needs to be filmed no matter what," the actor stated.
Furthermore, the Hong Kong singer and actor revealed that the film deals with the subject of mental illness. Because of the subject matter of the film, he actor revealed that there was a famous film star who declined to take on the role in fear of his image being affected by it.
As opposed to the unidentified actor, Yue seems to be excited about the film and even disclosed that he will be portraying an individual who suffers from depression.
He explained that after he has read through the script, he realized that he was manifesting similar symptoms as that of his character. He jokingly added then that he felt like actors have the same mental illness which he deemed as an occupational disease.
