(Photo : T-Mobile) T-Mobile has kicked off tis big iPhone sale, offering storage upgrades for free on Cyber Monday.

T-Mobile has announced its Cyber Monday deals for the iPhone, and they're pretty big. The carrier will be offering free upgrades on the storage for the same price.

The three deals include:

  • iPhone 6 16GB upgraded to 64GB

  • iPhone 5S 32GB upgraded to 64GB

  • iPhone 5C 8GB upgraded to 32GB

These upgrades are quite significant, considering 16GB of storage is not much for the average user. 32GB is starting to become the bottom line, and Apple removed that option from the iPhone 6, in favor of 64GB and 128GB.

The iPhone 6 64GB option is a much better deal than the other two, due to 16GB not getting most customers through two years. The updates alone from Apple take up half of the space on the 16GB iPhone, but 64GB should give plenty of room.

Apple's previous year brought the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S appears to still be popular in same markets, but the 32GB to 64GB upgrade is not huge. It is still nice, but 32GB is enough to store most items for a year or two.

The iPhone 5C seems to be the least popular, which may be why T-Mobile is offering such a big discount. 8GB to 32GB is huge for customers, essentially giving them four times more space to use.

8GB is not useful in this day and age and shows why the iPhone 5C never caught on, when the cheapest option gave almost no storage. Having the 32GB option might interest a few customers, but the iPhone 5C seems dead in the water.

Apple very rarely does deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but this year we got the first drop in price for the iPhone. T-Mobile has stepped up the game with these upgrades, making all customers buying a new iPhone have a lot more storage for the same price.

It is a shame the iPhone 6 Plus was not included in this deal. It would have been nice to see either a price reduction to $199 on contract for 16GB or the same upgrade to 64GB, but it doesn't look like that is coming.
