Susan Boyle used to dream of romance and Prince Charming before, but it's never too late for one to fall in love as the 53-year-old British singing sensation told The Mirror that she has finally fallen in love for the first time.

In the interview with The Mirror, the "I Dreamed a Dream" songstress talked about how she met the love of her life, who is an American physician. She said they got to know each other after he chatted her up while at a hotel in U.S. for her solo tour, and described him as a "perfect gentleman."

Boyle has been very open about life before and said that she has never been kissed. The beau is now planning to pay her a visit in her home in Scotland. However, Boyle does not want to move fast and said they are still getting to know each other.

"It's very early days so we'll see what happens. I hope he comes over," she said. "I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."

Aside from her budding romance, Boyle also talked about how she is coping up with Asperger's syndrome. "You always feel that eyes are on you. It is getting better though," she said.

After being diagnosed with the condition, she has already learned the strategies on how to cope up. She said that the "best one is to just walk away ... if I feel I'm going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave," the singer revealed.

Boyle shot to fame right on her first appearance on Britain's Got Talent in 2009.

She received a standing ovation from an amazed crowd after delivering her impressive rendition of "I Have a Dream."

Her first album, I Have a Dream, released in 2009, debuted at No. 1 and became the U.K.'s best-selling album of all time.
