In Fairbanks, Alaska, students are able to experience a whole new level of how their science and technology classes are taught. This is because their subject involves the use of robotics, something that is said to excite, inspire, and motivate them.

According to the Alaska Dispatch News, the science lab of a number of educational institutions in the state has been transformed into a place that "looked like a playroom for robots and teens." As it was reported, the lab is from a science outreach program from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and the funds that was used for the program is from the NASA Near Earth Network.

Jeremy Nicoll, the project's main investigator, explained that this has been started five years ago. The main goal of the outreach program is not only to introduce various subjects to Fairbanks students, in the junior high and high school levels, but also to supplement them. These subjects include science and technology, engineering, as well as Math.

Furthermore, the University of Alaska Fairbanks science outreach program is also said to be more than just a creative place for students to learn more about science and technology. The program is also being implemented in the hope of being able to prepare students to become part of a competition hosted by the non-profit company known as FIRST Tech Challenge. The competition involves having the students compete with each other through the use of robots that they have designed.

The RoselynTParedes IT says that this project is really indeed a great and effective method for students, especially those who are already in their junior high and high school levels, to learn more about science and technology and participate more actively in their classes. Being educated early on about the valuable contributions of robotics is something that the entire world can definitely benefit from.
